IT'S TIME FOR A HEALTY AND SAVE VACATION IN SLOVENIA

The epidemic is over but the concern for health remains.

Slovenia was the first European Union country to declare the end of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infectious disease epidemic. Because our wish is to make you feel safe when visiting healthy, green and active Slovenia, all preventive measures and hygiene recommendations put in place to prevent the spread of the disease must be consistently observed at all times.

Here, you can find current information about crossing the national borders, about the preventive guidelines adopted in the tourism sector and hospitality services concerning visiting public areas, about public transport, etc.

When and how to cross the state border?

Before planning your arrival in Slovenia, obtain information about the current situation and the measures in place at the country’s national borders. There are still certain limitations in place for most visitors, and there are some exceptions. Among other measures, the following applies:

  • Citizens of Slovenia, Austria and Hungary are allowed to cross the border outside the checkpoints without restrictions.

  • Slovenia can be entered without limitations and quarantine from countries that are on the list of those which have no border crossing limitations.

  • There is a mandatory 14-day quarantine still in force for other persons (there are some exceptions) who enter Slovenia.

Reach your destination safely and healthily

Travelling across Slovenia is possible by public passenger transport as well as air transport. However, certain hygiene recommendations provided by the National Institute of Public Health must be observed.

Safe travel by bus or train

You can travel between places by bus and train, but you must observe certain recommendations. One of these states that you may use public transport only if you are healthy and show no signs of respiratory infection. Temporary prohibitions and restrictions for all forms of public passenger transport in international road and railway traffic remain in force.

Safe and healthy arrival by air

As of 12 May 2020, passenger air transport to international airports in Slovenia is permitted. The prohibition of flights from abroad to local airports remains in force until 12 June 2020.

Holidays are here!

Summer is here and we are all looking forward to our vacations. All tourism and hospitality staff have been well informed regarding the current situation and will be more than happy to assist you in spending a safe vacation here. It is also your responsibility to observe the hygiene measures, thereby helping to ensure a healthy and safe vacation in Slovenia.
